Travel

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

– Mark Twain

I’ve shared this quote with many people over time as they set out on new journeys. Something about travel takes me outside of myself. Time is limited, so you push yourself to do more, to explore and try new things. I’m usually on my best… I’ve been to a few places, where I’m the first American the local people have ever met and I want to make a great impression.

My mom has always encouraged us to keep travel journals when we travel. From childhood roadtrips to visit the birthplaces of as many presidents as we could to backpacking trips through South America, I have a growing collection of Barbin adventures. Please feel free to check out My Shanghai Sabbatical and look for new posts here as I continue to discover exciting new places and experiences!
